Daddy’s Home (Sproutwells episode)

Okay, so I got an opportunity on SocialSpark to write about The Sproutwells, I hadn’t really watched their episodes until now. The video is an attempt by freshfunds to make the Sproutwells go viral and get more visitors to their site right? A lot of people are trying this now a days, and it’s actually one of the number one tips I’d give you on making money online… the only problem is… well to put this delicately the Sproutwells are lame. It’s like a bad sitcom. Now you might ask why I took the opportunity then? Because I actually do like FreshFunds.com it’s a great idea! And I do absolutely encourage you visiting the site. For an explanation here’s what their site has to say about what FreshFunds.com is:

Although, this is what made a little more sense to me, all the same. This is a numbered list of how things work and what to do with those points you earn:

2) Collect the Fresh Funds points on the back of specially marked packages.

Lifehouse Everything skit

Lifehouse’s Everything Skit

Katie just showed this to me… and I loves it! Watched it like 10 times so far and cried every time… Even though we cannot defeat our own sins and make it back to God on our own will he is willing to step in the gap and take on our sins to defeat them, and death for us so that we can be with him.

Stardust

Wow, it’s been a long time since I’ve done a movie review.?‚?  Mostly because I’ve not gone and seen a new movie in quite some time.?‚?  Then I also don’t really care to review new movies… unless it’s just a must see movie there’s no real point in it.?‚?  You guys know that I love small films with big messages like Dear Frankie and Marylin Hotchkiss Ballroom Dancing and Charm School both extravagant movies!?‚?  Definitely worth the time to watch them.?‚?  This time, with Stardust there isn’t just an amazing message to be passed on, or great hidden story that parallels out lives to be analyzed.?‚?  Instead it’s simply a story, that surpasses expectation, and doesn’t get the credit it is due.

The movie Stardust is drastically funny from the beginning with that special British dry whit that makes even the slow scenes comical.?‚?  In a world of magic, and imagination you can expect to see your fair share of oddity’s, twists, and turns unthought of in our world.?‚?  But isn’t that the great thing about having an adventure in a magical world? ?‚?  Against all odds, and without hope in our world a hero can be made of the mundane.?‚?  It echoes a story that resounds in all of our hearts.?‚?  We long to find that this world is not merely the end, we long to know that we were meant to be something so much more.?‚?  So in this I found myself engulfed in the adventures of Yvaine, and Tristan Thorn.?‚?  The storyline of Stardust was merely good until the movie takes a turn on Captain Shakespeare’s ship.?‚?  The movie illuminates from good to unforgettable.?‚?  This is where we get to see the transformation of the main characters from what they were, to what they were meant to become… and it is portrayed in the most beautiful manor.

Now I’m sure since my review does no justice to the movie at all you guys won’t go out and rush to rent Stardust tonight… however this movie does?‚?  have another grand easter egg that many of you know I love in a movie.?‚?  Even though I love movies like Kingdom of Heaven and Gladiator they never got their own review… Not to say that they were not worthy of their own review… but what do you say about such great epic tales??‚?  I truly find Stardust to be on the same level as either of those movies… in another respect as well.?‚?  Quotability.?‚?  Stardust is an extremely quotable movie, with many great life lessons packed into a few one liners that can both touch the heart, and pierce the soul depending upon what the needs be.

I hate to sit here and give away any of the story line so I won’t tell you anything more of the movie, but I do wish you would all go see it!?‚?  A great love story, epic adventure, and quotable life lessons all rolled into one great movie.

Yawpbox

Media has changed. Plain and simple, ever since the video camera was put in the consumers hand everything changed. First we had shows like Americas Funniest Home Videos, where random and extraordinary events were caught on tape and sent in for the chance at prizes and fame for either utter stupidity caught on tape or something that we wish never happens to us. Now video recording is cheaper and easier than ever with digital video coming on most cameras along with web cams. The growing trend has lead to amateur videographers creating movies and skit series that are uploaded and spread across the web.

I’m the worlds greatest renegade and you just didn’t know it

Wow, so I had the craziest dream last night… First off I have to say that I’ve been doing way too much blogging because that was a central theme of my dream. The dream starts out pretty dull, I was being myself and fighting the powers that be with a small crew of friends and Joanna. The world as we know it had gotten pretty bad, we were falling into a major recession, and China was lurking at our doorstep to attack. We were fighting as a group against the way the system was run with everything from the Fed, to Income Taxes, to our spread out military forces (yeah, maybe all the Ron Paul promotions I’ve been doing have had some effect on this dream too). Thing is our country is at the point where change MUST occur or we’re going to be taken over, not like now where we’re at the point where if change doesn’t occur there’s a good chance for recession and other very big financial problems with our government. I’m always the first to start a fight against things that just aren’t right, but I’m also the first to call off the dogs once the point has been proven… there’s no point in a war when it can be resolved with a little bit of stubbornness. Funny thing is I don’t have a whole lot of friends that I just communicate with every day, but the friends that I do have are very loyal and man you offend me you’ll have 20 people knocking at your door ready to rip your head off… before I even ask them to do or say anything about it. So this is where we are in the dream: I’ve got a very loyal crew of friends that are ready to give up anything for a better America so long as I’m around to keep them going strong, the only business in America still making money is the United States Government (which very much so is a business if you don’t believe me ask CEO George Bush if he’s not making any money from the deals he makes as CEO of this great country), the country is full of inner turmoil but no one is ready to face it those that are don’t have the resources to do so, and our country lurks on the edge of war with a country that we’ve supported for so long and nearly bankrupted ourselves in giving our resources over to them.

Our group has been hinting to the government with secretive but aggressive acts. We hit randomly and disappear fast leaving only enough evidence to get the point across that you’ve got to change or we’ll change it for you. Our group has been growing in popularity as many start to see us as the glimmer of hope for a more free society, and reluctantly we’ve taken on some new members to help us with it. Our popularity grows with the help of the internet, the only truly free place left in America. With an offshore account we document our progress on a blog and those who we fight for send us encouragement in anonymous comments. We’ve been sabotaged however and some of our behind the scenes people who were behind as we went in for another powerful demonstration were captured including Joanna. Most of the less loyal that have joined us late in the game give up hope at this point rather easily, but it infuriates me and the few loyal left who aren’t being held by the government and myself get together for one last suicide mission. Although our attempts at change have been aggressive they’ve not been violent up until now. From outside at a long range those of my crew keep a safe exit path from the building as I go in to rescue those that I can. I go in with nothing more than a pair of swords and my stealthy ways as weapons are increasingly hard to come by for the general public. I know that they really wanted me as the ring leader and don’t suspect any harm for myself as they would like me alive to make a martyr of me. I go in and am able to rescue Joanna with a couple of other close and loyal friends as they were being held in an office instead of a jail cell more as bait than anything. I remember this scene the most, using a remotely operated rifle I’m able to take out one guard by the window and the remaining guard gets an intimate introduction to the pointy end of my sword as I slip out of the shadows from the adjoining office. He asks as he’s falling to the ground how we slipped in to which I respond “It’s pretty hard to lock somebody out who’s already in when you lock the doors.” Which I have no idea what it means because I wasn’t in when they took everybody captive obviously… so I must of had some suspicion of where they were being taken and slipped in before they got them there or something and just waited in the shadows until my crew was set up and then pounced.

The escape is a bitter sweet moment as we move out silently I sent Joanna and the others out the back side of the building which was being guarded and held secure for escape by the remaining crew. I went rather rashly through a side exit and moved towards the front bringing the attention of the guards and making the path safe for those who were entrapped to escape. After dodging a couple of the guards out front who were instructed to capture me I began the foot race through the wooded area out front with some sort of gadget or special jump jet that allowed me to take extra long strides and jump to the heights of the tree tops (yeah, don’t ask I have no idea where that one comes from). At full speed and through the forest they’re not able to pursue, but someone does catch up. My closest friend and ally using the same technology, the guy who helped me initially organize the whole thing and pull it off, who was by my side the whole time. He comes up beside me and says “You knew it wouldn’t last forever.” Distracted I looked over to him questioning his meaning. The next thing I remember I was cut and bruised laying inside a home with broken glass everywhere (apparently while distracted I crashed into someones home and through the window) as the government forces closed in behind me.

The next segment of the dream I am shackled in a court room, but there is great hope as everyone shows up to not only stand up for my character, but also to prove to the government that they were no longer scared, and if they wanted to take their hero they would have to do so by force. This was a particularly odd part of the dream since the entire dream even though I was me, I was not in me. I was always watching as if from a cameras perspective outside of my body, yet from the court room I was in first person mode (as I was also starting at the crashed scene when I started coming to, before blacking out again). We never find out what happens from the court room, we are left with a sense of great hope, and a possibility of change, but everything fades out from this point on as… well if it were a movie the credits would start rolling at this point.

I really wish I had a device where I could capture the images and near video footage in my head of this dream because we’re talking The Bourne Identity level of acting, grade of fight scenes, and power of story line. It’s good stuff we’re talking about here, big blockbuster hit kind of thing!

Numa Numa rebirth

I’m sure you guys have seen this video a few hundred times, but how could you ever get tired of it? For those of you who were around for the first round of Numa Numa you know that it originated on NewGrounds.com Here the video was a hit within a matter of days and brought about a huge wave of views. I suggest for those of you who haven’t to go to the NewGrounds website and view the third version he brought out with subtitles. The original is a little bit annoying to me, but the second version, and third are good. In fact I have version two from YouTube right here for you:

I’ve not heard of what kind of compensation, if any that Gary really made from the video, but I do know that it was a huge success and well me talking about it wouldn’t even do justice so hear the story straight from the horses mouth with his interview on VH1:

Then of course I definitely have the second (which is actually the fourth video) that he made that they speak of. Also found that this video was part of a video contest hosted by Gary Brolsma in which $45,000 was given away, I think it was sponsored by YouTube and some other people so Gary didn’t front all the money, but he obviously wasn’t doing so bad from a silly video he put online that he didn’t even promote:

As you can tell he’s got some new video software, and equipment for much higher resolution video recording… so obviously the video made him a little bit of money, and from the interview we know that he definitely got a job from the antics. I have a lot more respect for Gary Brolsma after visiting his website and finding out that he definitely appears to be a Christian with a “God” link on his sidebar I was a little bit worried I wasn’t going to like him. Since that’s how it usually goes for me these people online, I like them until they put their views of God out there. But Gary seems to have a good outlook on God and even has a prayer request form there so I still like him, and in fact have more respect for him now than before.

For those of you who want to hear the whole song (as I know I always did) I’ve got it for you, and the lyrics!!! uh… if you can call them lyrics… a little disclaimer, these are not the right lyrics, but they’re much more funny than anything you could get out of the real thing. The real song is actually a love song when translated properly, and a really good one at that.

Back Dorm Boys - I want it that way

Dude, this just never gets old. I’ve seen this video a million times, and I’m glad to hear that these guys were later signed to be Motorola spokesmen in China… seriously, I’m always happy to hear of people actually making money from a random event online, that’s how I got the job with Viacom… didn’t last forever so now it’s time to move onto the next event. I don’t know if it’s their weird lip syncing or the guy playing Counter-Strike in the background that I like more… I love how they’re being all crazy and stuff and he’s just completely oblivious. Either way Wei Wei and Huang Yi Xin have kept me entertained for a long time with their crazy antics and ridiculous lip syncing

Fun with diet coke and mentos

Ok, this was awesome! Ever wanted to see something just freaking cool? Here you are! Being a theatre geek and thespian anything that is so well staged and obviously practiced is worthy of praise. The music that goes along with it is just perfect and helps keep the entertainment level while adding to what is going on.
